The internet is pretty divided on the date for National Kissing day. Is it 13th April? Or maybe its in June or July? Whatever date it really is, Hannah has made this sweet little lips pinata DIY for you
You will need:
Double sided tape
Red tissue paper
Cut around the templates. You should only need 2 of the long strips but you can have the others for spares in case you need.
Stick masking tape strips all the way around the lip shape, leaving a couple at the bottom out.
Stick the strip of card to the masking tape, following around the lip shape. When you get to the curves you can lightly bend the card to follow around those shapes to ease it to stick aligned.
Leave a section unstuck at the bottom to allow you a flap to add in sweets and goodies. Do the exact same steps with the back panel, leaving a gap at the bottom. Put the sweets in and lightly tape up with a strip of masking tape.
Fold the tissue paper up to the strip width that you'd like (maximum 3.5 cm), cut up into the tissue paper from one side to create a fringe.
Put your scissors inside the tissue to cut the edges that are still connected on the fringe.
Start adding the fringe to the lip shape beginning from the bottom to the top. To begin with put the double sided tape onto the tissue paper so you know you'll align it right to sit at the bottom, afterwards you can either attach it to the lips where you know the next layer will sit or on the tissue directly if you find that easiest.
As you go trim the edges that fall past the edge of the lips to keep the shape. You can begin to add smaller strips all the way around the edge and back, just make sure you start at the very bottom and work your way up.
When you get to the teeth stick down the fringe and trim away the parts that cover the tooth shape. Continue adding tissue all the way up and around till you have covered all the lips.
Enjoy this little project!
