All our Workshops will be held at our studio;
London Craft Club, 20 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3HH. We are located between Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street tube stations.
Embroidery is not the quickest way to create an image, but it shows dedication, perseverance, care, skill, patience and creativity. It's better than any app for reminding you how to focus and be present. Learn the basics and then lose yourself in a proper mindful activity.
There's a reason embroidery has stood the test of time. Like knitting, it's handy enough that you can pop it in your bag and take it with you, or you can take on something on a heroic scale like the Bayeux Tapestry (it's actually embroidered) You can use colour, texture, images or words. You can be quick and dirty or supremely skilled. There is no limit to what you can do with it, and in the hands of modern makers it's subversive, beautiful and infinitely varied.
We'll teach you the most useful stitches, and then provide you with some good templates and get you started on the best self-care activity you'll take up this year. Oh and you get a ton of stuff to take home too.
A glass of Prosecco or soft drinks
A wooden embroidery hoop
A set of mixed embroidery (crewel) needles
Ten skeins of 100% cotton embroidery floss
A canvas pouch
A pair of embroidery scissors
A magic water soluble pen
A full colour instruction booklet
At least 3 pdf templates
